Dr. Khanh Le received his Medical Degree from the Tulane University School of Medicine in 2000 and completed his residency in Internal Medicine at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston. He completed his fellowship in Gastroenterology and Hepatology at Tulane University Medical Center and received six months of fellowship training at Baylor College of Medicine. He earned his Bachelor of Science Degree in Biomedical Engineering with Magna Cum Laude honors from the Tulane University School of Engineering.
Throughout his medical training, Dr. Le has been involved in both basic and clinical research ranging from brain tissue research to heart failure to hepatitis C. During his fellowship training, he has participated in the research of gastroesophageal reflux disease, Crohn’s disease, end-stage liver disease, and hepatitis B and C. He has experience with transplant hepatology from his training at the Tulane Abdominal Transplant Unit. He has a strong interest in the management of patients with chronic hepatitis C in addition to general gastroenterology. Dr. Le’s unique fellowship training at 2 well known academic centers has allowed him to be mentored by over 30 faculty members who are experts in the field of gastroenterology and hepatology. He has performed over 3500 procedures related to gastroenterology and has a very low complication rate. Dr Le takes pride in performing a thorough and safe procedure with patient’s comfort and dignity in mind.
He believes excellent medical care is about compassionate care, taking the time to explain results, and involving patient in medical decision making. Dr. Le’s genuine concern for his patient’s well being has been validated many times by his patient’s positive remarks about him to the nursing staff and in their referring family members and friends to see him. Patients come from the many surrounding communities to see Dr. Le for his expertise in gastrointestinal diseases and great bedside manners. He and his wife Beth are the proud parents of 3 daughters: Katie, Amy, and little Sophie. His interests include playing raquetball, BBQing, karaoke, origami, and spending time with his family. He is fluent in English and Vietnamese.
